Valentine’s Day is upon us, folks. That only means ONE thing…Half-Price Candy Day is JUST around the corner! Yay!!
Seriously though, it’s the least this world could give us single gals for putting up with the never-ending onslaught of Valentine’s Day lovey dovey posts coursing through social media. (Is there a filter for sappy?)
Don’t get me wrong. I’m all about expressing love for that special someone in your life. My special someone, however, happens to be baked in a pie dish, adorned in buttercream frosting, and loaded with M&M’S® goodness!
Really, who needs a man to curl up with on Valentine’s Day when I can just curl up with this handsome little devil instead??
This M&M’S® Cookie Pie is not just another big cookie. Decorated with a sweet border of rich vanilla buttercream, this dessert is the definition of M&M’S® chocolate deliciousness. Because not only does it have peanut butter M&M’S® candies baked inside, but it’s also decorated with M&M’S® Chocolate Bars.
Wait a minute!!
M&M’S® Chocolate Bars???
Yes, people. They exist. And they’re amazing.
Odds are, if you love M&M’S®, you’ll love their chocolate bars as well. I spotted them almost immediately as I was strolling through the candy aisle at Rite Aid. Being the chocolate lover that I am, I couldn’t just get one bar. I had to at least try a few!
Funnily enough, whenever I shop at Rite Aid I find myself always purchasing the same products together…candy, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Hey, at least I’m being SOMEWHAT responsible about keeping these pearly whites healthy!
Anyway…not only are these M&M’S® Chocolate Bars delicious as a special treat on their own, but their cute design makes them perfect for decorating desserts as well!
But before we get into the fun part, let me tell you how I made this lovely little thang. I started out by mixing up a batch of my Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie dough. It’s made with browned butter so you KNOW it’s good! To dress it up for Valentine’s Day, I added white chocolate chips along with some peanut butter Valentine M&M’S® candies.
Once the dough is made, it goes right into a greased 9-inch pie plate. No chilling, no rolling, no shaping, or scooping! Just press the whole thing into a pie plate. So quick and easy, right??
The pie bakes for about 20-22 minutes, or until nice and golden brown. Then comes the fun part! Dressing it up!
The frosting is just your standard American Buttercream. Start by beating up some butter with some powdered sugar. Add a little vanilla and a few tablespoons of milk, and you’re ready to pipe! For this cute little border I used a Wilton’s 1M tip.
Of course, we can’t forget the star of the show…The M&M’S® Chocolate Bars! All you have to do is break off the little “M” squares, then place them around the pie. And to finish it off, a little shower of sprinkles!
This cookie pie bakes up so beautifully thick and dense. With subtle hints of browned butter, melty chocolate chips, and salty peanut butter M&M’S® candies, you really can’t go wrong.
And if that wasn’t enough, you’ve got the sweet vanilla buttercream border as well as the cute milk chocolatey squares of the M&M’S® Chocolate Bars.
Happy Valentine’s Day to ME…

M&M's Cookie Pie
Ingredients
Cookie:
- ¾ cup unsalted butter
- 2 ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 ½ teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- ¼ cup + 2 Tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup + 2 Tablespoons white chocolate chips
- ½ cup Peanut Butter M&M’S® candies divided
Vanilla Buttercream:
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- Pinch of salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2-4 Tablespoons milk
To Assemble:
- M&M’S® Chocolate Bars
- Sprinkles
Instructions
Make the Cookie:
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF and spray a 9-inch pie dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. As the butter melts, it’ll start to foam, then turn a clear golden color. Continue to stir the butter, scraping up any browned specks from the bottom of the pan as it starts to brown. It should have a nutty aroma. Once browned and nutty, remove from the heat; set aside to cool slightly.
- Whisk the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch together in a medium bowl; set aside.
- Transfer browned butter to a large bowl. Using a fork, vigorously stir in both sugars until smooth and combined, about 1 minute. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients, stirring until just incorporated. Stir in 1/4 cup of the semi-sweet chips, 1/4 cup of the white chips, and 1/4 cup of the M&M’S® candies. Press dough into the pie dish, and place remaining chocolate chips and M&M’S® candies evenly into the dough.
- Bake in the oven for 20-22 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and the center is set. Allow cookie pie to cool completely.
Make the Buttercream:
- In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and salt together on high until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Add the powdered sugar, a cup at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a silicone spatula as needed. Add the vanilla and 2 Tablespoons of milk, beating until light and fluffy. Transfer frosting to a piping bag with a piping tip.
To Assemble:
- Once cookie has completely cooled, pipe a border of buttercream around the edges of the cookie. Decorate with M&M’S® Chocolate Bar pieces and sprinkles. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
