Three layers of delicious Rice Krispies madness, beginning with an ooey gooey, marshmallowy layer of caramel-infused Rice Krispies, followed by a crispy layer of milk chocolate and peanutbuttery goodness, and a final crispy crunchy layer of peanut butterscotchy Heaven. Oh, and did I mention the Reeses’s cups and Heath Toffee pieces?
I had a rather difficult time trying to describe this heaven-on-earth treat in just one simple sentence.
It’s not just your everyday, traditional rice krispies treat. It’s way way way WAY more than that! There’s so much amazingness stuffed into this one treat that it would be impossible for me to sum it up into less than a baJillian words! (See what I did there? 😉 )
So why don’t I describe this satangelic treat in a few paragraphs for you.
I started things off with a layer of unbelievably ooey gooey rice krispies treats that have been infused with even MORE ooey gooeyness–CARAMEL!! I then added a generous sprinkle of chopped Reese’s cups. I know, this is sounding so low-cal already!
The second layer consisted of a mouthwatering mix of milk chocolate, peanut butter, and Rice Krispies cereal because you really CAN’T go wrong when you combine those three ingredients. I had a tough time keeping my fingers out of the bowl when I was stirring up this super addictive mixture. It’s pretty much crack, on top of crack, on top of crack, which pretty much describes the entire recipe in a nutshell, now that I think about it…
I then topped this layer off with a healthy portion (and by healthy, I really mean…A LOT) of Heath toffee bits.
Oh, and because this treat wasn’t rich enough, I decided to add a third layer! This layer is similar to the second layer except I used butterscotch chips instead of chocolate. It only makes sense that butterscotch and peanut butter would taste insanely delicious together since they both contain the word “butter” in their names. Right?
To sum everything up for you, I was kind enough to make a little outline.
Despite how intense this recipe might sound, it’s actually super, super, SUPER easy to make! There’s no baking required and no special equipment or mixers are needed. And for as many layers that it consists of, there really aren’t that many ingredients either! Yay for quick, easy peasy, sinfully sweet, AND impress-your-pants-off treats!!!
This treat is bursting with every wonderful flavor and texture imaginable!
And believe me…the payoff is TOTALLY worth it!
My little helper…standing right next to these devilish treats. I either have her very well-trained, or she has more self-control than I do.
